Molly Meldrum has shown some improvement after a fall in his Melbourne home. He has now been transferred to rehab.
We send out our thoughts to you Molly.
I love it on Rockwiz when they ask "What was the first concert you went to"? I can sit in my lounge room showing off every week because my first was Alice Coopers' Welcome To My Nightmare. Does anyone else have memories of that show to share? We got there at 10:00am to line up and lost our velvet thongs running in to be at the front of the stage!
My last show was the Angels gig at the Annandale pub before they started their tour. It was a small intimate crowd who'd all won tickets through their website. I think I won because I said I saw them when they were the Keystone Angels at a church dance. They've still got it and the best part was partying with fans of my own vintage!
Why not share your memories with us? Someone told me their older brother took him along and bikies were throwing bottles?

First & Last
My first concert was The Osmonds at Festival Hall, Melbourne in 1974
My last concert was Bon Jovi at Energy Systems Arena, Salt Lake City, USA in March 2011.
First Concert
My first was the one down near Luna Park. Classic. Film clips still going from it JPY and TMG playing Jump In My Car. Great day, was only 10. First paying show was "Christmas Jive 75" Russell Morris, Supernaut and OL'55.
last concert
I just saw Susie Quatro in September at Panthers Leagues club. She still rocks! That was the second time I've seen her. Seein' we're both rockin' grannies, I got my hair cut like hers. Age disgracefully I say!
Ross Wilson
The last concert i went to was on Saturday February 19, 2011 at Wilpena Flinders Ranges, South Australia and i saw Ross Wilson!
He was fantastic and i love watching him perform! It was my third time i had seen him, and i will keep going to all his concerts when he comes here to Adelaide! The BEST performer ever!!!
Love Ross! <3
!st & last concert
First concert was at Memorial drive (Adelaide) in 1983 to see Dire Straits 'Love over gold' tour concert, and the last was 2008 (?) at Footy park in Adelaide to see U2's last tour of Australia.
I have Countdown spectaculars in my shed (via a projector) every weekend, with the 70's & 80's music I have taped (now on DVD hard drive) off Rage etc over the last 20 years.
Pure nostalgia, wife thinks I need to let the past go, but I can't.
I WON'T let go either. I have
I WON'T let go either. I have a a stash of Countown and Flashez that I get out. If you have Foxtel channel 856 plays '70's music only and we play "Name the band and song title" every weekend.
I've just changed the Foxtel
I've just changed the Foxtel to 856 & it's playing now! Thanks for the tip. I am still stuck tragically in the past also. Flashez! Oh my God, was that Mike Meade? Or Ray Burgess....struggling to remember now. I was still at high-school. First concert - hmmm. It was either the Aunty Jack & The Gong show (!) or a double-bill with Skyhooks and Matt Taylor. Last concert - Cliff & The Shadows in Brisbane, March 2010. I want some of whatever he's on.
first and last concerts
helga58, you've go it bad, too. Who else would remember Mike Meade? :)
First and last concerts
The first concert I went to was at Melbourne's Festival Hall to see Sherbet, John Paul Young and Stylus in 1975. Last concert was Jon Stevens last year.
First and last concerts...
First concert... hmmm, not sure I want to admit it, but I went to the Bay City Rollers (BCR) Concert at the Canberra Theatre (1975). "Woody" had fallen ill and was receiving treatment in hospital so did not play that night:(
Last concert... does the recent RockWiz Tour count? Tim Rogers, Claire Bowditch, RockWiz orchestra and the rest of the gang. Great night out. Great Aussie muscians.
BCR
Love BCR. My cousin and I loved Woody too because we felt sorry for him. We'd kiss the T.V. screen whenever he was on.
First concert could have been
First concert could have been Neil Diamond! but the last one was The Bangles and Pat Benatar and the next one is Blondie a solo show there doing in Melbourne.
Sad admission.....
Disturbingly, the first concert I went to was by the Chantoozies. I would like to say, however, that it wasn't by choice! High school students from all over the Mallee were bused to a central town and we sat and tolerated their performance. I'm sure it wasn't that great for them either. School students who are perpetually told to sit down and shut up are hardly likely to get up and dance at their first concert - and even in the country with only 2 TV channels we all new that the Chantoozies were uncool.
Unfortunately to continue the uncool theme, the last concert I went to was the Wiggles (I've got a 4 year old, that's the way life goes). And besides, I remember Anthony and Jeff from when they were in the Cockroaches. I must say though, that they are very good entertainers. No dull intervals and stage tantrums in the Wiggles concert!
In a desperate bid to claw back some credibility, I can tell you that prior to the Wiggles my last concert was Nine Inch Nails. Dark, loud but the best sound quality and performance I have seen. No going through the motions here.
First and Last concerts you went to......
I can now add to previous concerts the following :
Just went and saw Pat Benatar and the always and still hot Bangles.
Both were great and can still entertain - looking forward to a return visit from the Bangles next year with a new album and tour - woo hoo.
:)
Concrete Blonde are also doing the rounds at the moment and later this year going to see Blondie and The Pretenders - can not get enough of this music.
We NEED another COUNTDOWN SPECTACULAR !!!!!!
