The Worst Song of the 80s
Without a doubt, The Pushbike Song by The Mixtures, full of
Ooh, Ah, Ooh Ah, simply horrible!
Worst song of the 1970s was
Worst song of the 1970s was "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band. No arguments! Dreadful! Worst song of the 1980s ? Easy. "I've Never Been To Me" by Charlene. Some lunatic actually gave me the LP as a gift. Needless to say, it was never played.
worst song ever
The worst song of the 70s/80s era has gotta be "Born to be Alive" - so repetitive and so bloody annoying!! The guy who sang it, Patrick Hernandez I think, was revolting as well. Even now if I hear that song on the radio I turn it off!!!
Worst songs of the 70's 80's
I loved the seventies music - Disco & all & I really liked 'Aint No Age for Rock & Roll', 'Mull of Kintyre' & 'Fernando' got a bit much after about 100 weeks at number 1 each, but now all these decades later I can listen to them again & enjoy them both... but the song I hate passionately from the 80's was 'Addicted to Love' by Robert Palmer, That bloody song, it was on every tv music show & every FM play list, at least twice a day. Shame 'cause I really liked his earlier song 'Johnny & Mary'
the Living End - Prisoner of Society
Ok, so this is an 80's hit, but my understanding is that it is still the biggest seller of an original hit in Australia, and yet nothing of theirs ever seems to get played much, not even on the classic radio stations. I just don't get it. The song is an anthem, and just one example of their talent.
I consider them one of Australia's best bands, and Chris Cheney is one of the best guitarists I have ever had the priviledge to see. If you have never seen his 'E-Boogie' you have not lived. (Great add for Aussie Beer as well).
So why are they not better supported in this country?
Teardrops by woman and woman?
Oh know i may not fall into that decade, but worst song ever!! No tune at all - hate it, hate it, hate it!!
Worse song ever
So many to choose from. Particularly those "novelty" songs from the 80's. I hated Shaddupa You Face. OH! and Austen Tayshus' Australiana!! SO ANNOYING! My most hated song, even now, is one of the country's biggest sellers......MULL OF KINTYRE!!! Every week it would be #1 on the Countdown chart. I think it must've annoyed even Molly & Gavin! (I'm with you about that Charlene song, too). Now I think I need to get out my Hush records to make myself feel better
I'm not sure of the name of
I'm not sure of the name of it but everyone seems to be getting Rick Rolled these days, so i'd have to say that's a pretty bad song. I even heard it playing in one of the hotels in rome that I stayed at in an elevator thinking this must be some kind of joke
Baked Beans
Does anyone remember that song Baked Beans by Mother Goose? I thought it (and its video) were hilarious way back then, but now I think OMG that's bloody awful!
Another springs to mind. That
Another springs to mind. That "Ain't no age for rock n roll", it was sung by The Veterans but it really scares the crap out of me.
The worst ever
It's got to be Chris De Burgh - Don't Pay the Ferry Man.
For starters, it's just bad advice. You should at least work out how much it's going to cost to get to the other side or you're stuffed.
Soppy Love Songs...
How about "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You" by Glenn Madeiros? Very soppy, and a dodgy video of a teenager in a white suit walking along a beach.
Mind you, the horror of "Charlene" mentioned above comes very close.
I've been to paradise but i've never been to me!
I've never been to me-Charlene. I still have the single in my mediocre record collection (thanks mum:-)
Ok, I liked it when i was little but i didn't realise how bad it actually was.
I'd put that Dr Hook "Baby makes her blue jeans walk" as well haha.
Oh that Da Da Da song by Trio
Oh that Da Da Da song by Trio and I Wanna Be Straight by was it Ian Dury and the Blockheads...I wanted to throw the radio when it came on.
