mark - 14/4/2009 Ok guys what about Countdown 3. Too many great aussie bands still to hear and get back to the format from Countdown 1. We have had enough of the global crisis and lets get back to some great aussie rock and roll again....
michael shrimpton - 12/4/2009 Hi Alicia - the episode with Platinum Riff is in the ABC archvies (it was ep 204 from 1979). Please email ABC Library Sales at abc.contentsales@abc.net.au for further information. Same goes for Andrew Millington & others looking for specific episodes. Please note some segments may not be available for purchase.
Alicia Darts - 11/3/2009 Im a huge fan of countdown, and have grown listening to many of the great bands that have played countdown. I'm searching for one particular episode that aired 29th July 1972. My father's band 'Platinum Riff' played their song 'Three Way deal' and i wouyld love to get a copy for him. Des anyone know how i can go about getting a copy of the episode?.
sharon betts - 5/3/2009 we need another countdown show it would be great to have acts like les mckeown shaun cassidy duran duran
suzi quatro ect
Helen Smith - 1/3/2009 If anyone's interested, I have some original Countdown tickets for sale on e-bay. They were for July 1979 and I'm pretty sure that was the night Bob Hawke and Malcolm Fraser were on. I was living in Bendigo so didn't go. Found them when I was going through all my old stuff the other day. They are listed under Music > Memorabilia > Other Memorabilia.
Andrew Millington - 13/2/2009 Hello Y'all, I'm hoping someone could help me here, I am after a specific countdown ep, the only info I know: 1979 the Angels were playing the song 'after the rain'..I would like to know if anyone has the particular episode as my friend is on it and he is being interviewed by molly..he has been looking everywhere and he just cant find it...so if anyone has any info on this please feel free to email me..Andy_milling10@hotmail.com..cheers.
Bronwyn - 2/2/2009 I too love anything Countdown - I have held on to all my old LP Records from the era and regularly subject my children to afternoons of "Mum's Music". I managed to get hold of an original Osti "Countdown" disco dress - but it didn't fit..............So on to Ebay it goes!!! Anyone who not only loves the Music but also the fashions - have a look - NOT to be missed.
Gordon Wynniatt - 31/1/2009 Scratch that idea - if you put novelty one-hit-wonders on, we'll end up with the truly horrendous Crazy Frog. I never want to hear that again! So forget I mentioned Jay Duck - I found it on YouTube, that's enough..
John Waddell - 30/1/2009 Hi Scott-that Suzi Quatro hosted episode was from March 29 1981(the week after the Chisel trashed Countdown/TV Week Rock Awards)and "Rage" screened it,from memory, back in 1999.
Gordon Wynniatt - 23/1/2009 Just been watching the re-runs on Rage and saw something I never saw in my entire 30 years of life - JAY DUCK! Usually, these sorts of novelty songs never seem to die - no matter how tacky and dreadful they are - so I'm surprised I had never seen or even heard of it before. If you ever make a One Hit Wonders 3, PLEASE put Jay Duck on it. Even if it wasn't a hit, put it on anyway because judging by some of the acts you claim to be one-hit wonders on the first two volumes, accuracy is not important. I mean really, East 17 had more than one hit, ditto Martika, ditto Londonbeat, ditto Starship...need I go on?
