Classic Countdown moments

We were overwhelmed by all of the crazy, fabulous memories Countdown fans shared for our latest competition. The following Countdown fans topped our list, but thanks to everyone who entered. The lucky winners each receive a Countdown t-shirt and triple-CD pack.


S. Rossato, Home Hill, QLD:
OMG!!! When AHA appeared, I remembering holding my cassette player up to the tv to record it!


H. Savage, Gildford, WA:
Prince Charles looking perplexed, the studio director looking vexed, Molly Meldrum stumbling and stuttering, the audience totally lost and muttering!


S. Zuzek, Altona Meadows, VIC:
My favourite Countdown moment was Iggy Pop scaring the bejesus out of the teenage audience with I'm Bored and then calling Molly dogface. Classic!


A. Smith, Pacific Pines, QLD:
Seeing Chrissie Amphlett singing 'Please and Pain' so seductively in her school uniform is one of my most treasured childhood memories. I grew up alot!


Y. Markowski, George’s Hall, NSW:
Seeing the Bay City Rollers perform in their too short white trousers.  I screamed in my loungeroom (and got into trouble from the parents!)
